Most of the pilots in TBD have been flying on-line since the days of Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 1, IL1946 and on into IL2-Cliffs of Dover. At that time our English speaking pilots from virtual squadrons 79, 92, 331, 332 & 602 flew as part of 41 Wing in EAF (European Air Force), which included an Italian speaking 51 Wing.

Under this format EAF participated in the Storm of War 3 & 4 an on-line campaign in IL2 Cliffs of Dover. At the end of the Storm of War Campaigns, the members of 79, 92 and 602 made the switch to DCS and to have a more informal group. This gradually split the two Wings and these renegade pilots gradually split off from EAF and set up a new group.

Being an informal, unstructured group and a name not being really important, because we tend to fly our own missions on our own servers, there was no consensus on the name, so it was left for a long time as TBD = To Be Decided…and it stuck!

We are mostly based in the UK, with members in Europe and the US. If you want to fly in a relaxed atmosphere but in a technically competent manner on Monday and Thursday nights, then we’ll be happy to have you along. We’re happy to support different experience levels but you’ll need voice comms and a willingness to join in and learn. We fly nearly all DCS modules, fixed wing, rotary, WWII, jets and occasionally drop back into IL2 Great Battles.
